Strings

All strings belong to the professional School and are recognized by the state according to the N.D. of 11.11.57 (Government Gazette 229/A/57) “On sanctioning the internal regulations of the Thessaloniki Conservatory” of the Ministry of Culture. The string students of the Anagennisi Conservatory have the opportunity to participate in the Anagennisi Orchestra from the 1st year of middle school until the completion of their studies.

The following schools operate:

  • Violin
    Levels of Study:
    Preliminary school 2 to 4 years
    Lower school 3 to 6 years
    Secondary school 3 to 6 years
    Higher school 3 or 4 to 6 years
  • Viola / Cello
    Levels of Study:
    Preliminary school 2 to 4 years
    Lower school 2 to 4 years
    Secondary school 3 to 6 years
    Viola High school 3 years for a degree and 4 years for a diploma
    Cello High school 3 years
  • Contrabass or Deep Chord.
    Levels of Study:
    Preliminary school 1 to 2 years
    Lower school 1 to 2 years
    Secondary school 2 to 4 years
    Higher school 3 to 6 years.

For particularly talented students or for those who have taken private lessons, the years of study can be reduced following placement tests.

Compulsory Courses for all string schools:
Theory 3 classes
Harmony 3 classes
Solfège 5 classes
Chamber Music 3 years (starts from the 3rd year of middle school or the 1st year of higher education).
History of Music 2 years
Piano Level A Secondary school Prima Vista 2 years (first sight reading)
Morphology 1 year Orchestra From the 1st year of Middle School until the completion of studies
Teaching experience 1 – 2 years (starts from the 1st year of Higher)
