Wind Instruments

The wind instruments belong to the professional school and are recognized by the state according to the B.D. of 11.11.57 (Government Gazette 229/A/57) “On sanctioning the internal regulations of the Thessaloniki Conservatory” and DOEPY/TOPYNS/85303 (Government Gazette 1913/14-9-2007) of the Ministry of Culture. Wind students of the Renaissance Conservatory have the opportunity to participate in the Renaissance Orchestra from the 1st year of middle school until the completion of their studies. The following schools operate: Brass Wind Trumpet Horn Trombone Tuba Woodwind Flute Recorder ** Oboe Clarinet Bassoon Saxophone ** RECORD FLUTE The course is aimed at elementary school students as well as students who wish to learn recorders.

1. For elementary school children: Small-member class teaching the basic breathing techniques of wind instruments, learning to read sheet music for wind instruments, small ensembles with the aim of getting in touch with the concept of chamber music.

2. Individual lesson for students: flute repertoire (especially alto) for advanced students. Specialization in the instrumental music of the Middle Ages and the polyphonic music of the Renaissance.

For particularly talented students or for those who have taken private lessons, the years of study can be reduced following placement tests.
