Panagiotis Dintis

Panagiotis F. Dintis was born in 1995 in Trikala, Thessaly. He is a graduated musician with titles recognized by the Ministry of Culture & Sports (Degree of Harmony Specialist – 2012, Degree of Wind Instrument Orchestration & Band Conducting – 2016) and is a graduate of the Navy Instructor Training School (KEPAL/SEEPN-101, 2022). He has participated in many seminars such as: “Wind Orchestra Conducting”, “Orthosomic for Musicians”, “Percussion Band”, “Wind Musical Instruments”, “Clarinet” and has participated as a speaker in conferences of the Hellenic Philharmonic Society (“The Military Journeys of Parade” – 2017, “Historical Review of PN Music from 1879 to the present” – 2021). He has composed anthems (“Lead Soldier” – 2014, “NCO School” – 2015, “Y/V Papanikolis” – 2017, “Army NCO School Anthem” [GES/SMY] – 2018, “Navy NCO School Anthem” [GEN/SMYN] – 2019, “The Captain” – 2021), as well as various other works for band. On February 22, 2018, he was honored by the Navy and specifically by the then Chief of the Fleet Vice Admiral Mr. Ioannis G. Pavlopoulos PN for the voyage of the “V/V Papanikolis”. Furthermore, he has written about the Greek Military Entrances of the Parade in the online newspaper of the Permanent Non-Commissioned Officer School [GES/SMY], about the Trumpets in the Army, as well as about the work of the Bands in the bands in print and online newspapers and websites. His works have been included in various publications, such as that of the former General Chief Musician of the Music of the Navy (1971 – 1983) Lieutenant Commander (P.Y. – MOUS) e.a. Mr. Antonio Zervos with the title “The Trumpet and the Trumpet in the Army and the Navy”. In the period 2018 – 2019 he fulfilled his military obligations in the Navy and specifically in the Music PN (GEN/DEDIS-IV) as a Musical Instrument performer (Tumba) and Repertoire Composer with the rank of Sailor (MOUS) organizing various projects for the use of Music PN. He has collaborated with the School of Permanent Non-Commissioned Officers of the Army, helping to prepare the students’ Choir and Orchestra for the musical accompaniment of the School’s events. In addition to his musical studies, he is a graduate of the School of Forestry Protection Technicians and has worked at the Trikala Forest Service. He also attended a 4-month Fire Academy Volunteer Firefighter training program and has served in the Fire Department for a short time with the rank of Eth. Firefighter. Among other things, he holds Certifications in educational programs of KEDIVIM of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (“Cognitive Professional Skills” – 2023, “Radio Broadcast Producer” – 2023). Since October 2016, he has been teaching Advanced Theory and Orchestration of Wind Instruments – Band Conducting in State-recognized Conservatories and Music Schools as well as in Adult Vocational Training Institutes. In November 2020, he was re-enlisted in the Navy as a Short Reassignment Officer (OBA) with placement at the Naval War School (SPPN) and secondment to the Music PN (GEN/DEDIS-IV). As of August 2021, he continues to serve in the Navy as a Professional Airman (EPOP) in the Music PN with the duties of Musical Instrument Performer (Tumba) and Assistant – Substitute Repertoire Office Officer (Responsible for National Anthems, Immigration and General Repertoire). He continues to be active in the field of music, mainly teaching, arranging various pieces as well as composing.
