
Yannis Mantasas
Yiannis Mantasas received a Piano Diploma with Honors and First Prize in 2021 from the Panionio Conservatory. He studies at the Department of Music Studies (DMS) of the National University of Athens in the direction of Music Technology, where he participates in University concerts both as a soloist and as a pianist accompanist.
He appears in the concerts of the “Musical June of the National University of Athens” (F.S. “Parnassos” – 2022, National University of Athens, 2023) where he also presents his own arrangement in tribute to Manolis Kalomiris. He accompanies the Opera Workshop of the University (DMS) (2022) and the National University of Athens Choir (2024). He collaborates with the Fili Notas Orchestra in the context of presenting new award-winning works of the “Double Y” Composition Competition (Kallithea Municipal Theater, 2022) and with the ensemble of the “Nostalgia Orchestra” he presents works by composer Mirant Tsalikian, which he also records (2023)! He has participated in the recording of works by G. Sicilianos in a University project (TMS NKUA – 2023) for an album published in 2024.
He accompanies in graduation exams, seminars (violin masterclass – Olga Holdorff 2021, Athens Concert Hall, 3rd Ruttimann flute competition 2017, Athens Conservatory), and in 2024 he participated in the 2024 Festival of Worship Music (Stavros Niarchos, IKPSN) in works by Philippos Tsalahouris.
As a composer, he presented his works on the piano, at the KSYME Festivals (2023 – 2024) and at the Athens Conservatory. from where he graduated from the Composition class of composer Philippos Tsalachouris, receiving a Diploma with Honors and First Prize (2024). Overall, during his studies in Higher Theory, he received a Specialist Harmony degree in 2016, a Counterpoint degree in 2018, and a Fugue degree in 2020, all with a grade of Honors in the classes of Giorgos Desyllas, Nikolaos Fylaktos and Rafael Pylarinos at the Panionio Conservatory.
He teaches piano and Theory (Theory & Harmony, Solfeggio, Dictèe) at home, having taught at the Panionio Conservatory (2021), at Themistoklis Schools (2021 – 2024), while since 2024 he has been collaborating with the Anagennisi Conservatory.
